Yeah, I wish there was a gathering around here of OLFers. I'd host it, if anyone is listening.

Hesh,

Thanks for sharing these. I haven't been a member long enough to have gone to any of the bigger shows or get-togethers (but I'll be living 15 miles from Healdsburg in another couple of months- so I'll be there), so it's great fun to have faces to put with some of the names we see so often on the forum.

Thanks again for coming by, and it was great to finally meet my neighbor. It
was also nice to finally see one of your guitars and a few of JJ's. I honestly
could not find any sign at all of the repair on that quilted back (and as many
folks know I'm especially gifted at finding and pointing out flaws ) . With
members living so close by I really wish we could manage get together like
this a little more often.

Just returned home from a great day with Hesh, et.al.

A few observations and comments:

...Hesh's wall of sound (8 of his guitars on one rack) is far more impressive in person that I ever imagined from the pics over the years.
...The black L-00 is so awesome. It was so cool to have Hesh continue to hand me a new guitar to play every few minutes. I felt like I was at Elderly's getting the VIP treatment. Hesh does spectacular work and each guitar was pristine with the glossiest finishes I've ever seen!

...David's new shop is already pumping out the work. Lots of sick guitars all lined up for their resurrections. He had quite a few new tricks up his sleeve. BTW, David...thanks for the setup help and advice.
...Good to see Lance again albeit for only a short time.

Finally...thanks to Hesh and Lacey for the generous hospitality and dinner. It was a great day for me. I hope the FP goes well...seemed like you were off to a good start by the time I left. Keep practicing the dance!

Hesh, you really do build some beautiful guitars!

Must admit, I’m a little envious. You guys not only get to hang out and talk guitar shop stuff,
but, you get to play them! Then you get dinner too! Yeah, I’d say that was a great day!

Bill, just so you know, I was listening! You can count me in. As you probably already know,
I live in North Georgia. I’m about 1.5 hours from Murphy NC. PM me if you want to.

Robert

OK, sometime in the next couple of weeks I'll start a new thread for a gettogether. CrazyManMichael is just above you there, in SC, and there are others I know. We'll pick a local spot and see if we can meet sometime.

Hesh, thanks for sharing. It looks like you guys had a great visit.

JJ, tell the truth...Hesh's guitars really sound horrible, right? *wink, wink, nugde, nudge*

Joe...It didn't matter what top he used, or whether the bracing was parabolic or scallopped, Hesh's guitars all sounded rich, balanced and vibrant.

He's a perfectionist in every sense of the word. I was looking for faults but really can't report anything of importance. Oh, yeah...he could have done a better job of pore filling on the guitar we were FPing...and Lacey reports that he used to leave the seat up!

That looks like a lot of fun, and it is. Yeah, Matt, now I'm hungry. Hey, I've lost ten pounds thanks to all the hot sauce I've been eating.

Thanks for sharing the day with us. Mighty fine looking instruments.

Par-tay! Looks like y'all had a good time. Thanks for the photos, Hesh.

What I want to know, though, is whether people speak softly and clear a path when a gang of luthiers walks into a restaurant?

Typically yes, but it seemed that we all picked the same week to shower so
they didn't seem to clear as wide a path as usual.
